Play Fountains at Stamford Park | Stalybridge, Tameside
Stamford Park is a beautiful Victorian Grade II listed park on the border of Ashton-under-Lyne and Stalybridge, and one of Greater Manchester's most loved family destinations. The park features a large area with fountains - the fountains turn on every day in summer and are an absolute hit!. There's plenty more to keep the whole family entertained too, including a playground with equipment for all ages, a boating lake where you can hire rowing boats and pedalos, a miniature train ride, a woodland area known as The Dingle, and an aviary. A café in the park is open 10am–4pm daily, and there's an ice cream van on site too. Don't forget to pack your swimwear!

Church Walk Paddling Pool | Northwich, Cheshire
Church Walk Paddling Pool is a lovely free attraction right in the heart of Northwich town centre, making it wonderfully easy to combine with a trip into town. The pool operates on a pre-bookable time slot system, so it's worth booking ahead to secure your spot. A brilliant, no-fuss option for a hot summer's day with the little ones!

Splash Park Zone | Lytham St Annes, Lancashire
Tucked into the beautiful Grade II listed Promenade Gardens in Lytham St Annes, this brilliant seaside splash park is completely free to use and is one of the best in the North West. Set in the former disused paddling pool area, it is now surrounded by amphitheatre-style seating and attractive landscaping. There are interactive water play features to suit all confidence levels - including in-ground jets, above-ground features for toddlers, large above-ground features for juniors, and a jet zone that produces a shallow splash area for younger or less water-confident children. The park is aimed at children aged 3–12, with a special under-fives session on Monday mornings and a dedicated session for children with disabilities and special educational needs on Tuesday mornings. Sessions are bookable in free hour-long slots. Refreshments including ice creams and drinks are available nearby. There are no changing facilities on site, so do go prepared.

Happy Mount Park Splash Park | Morecambe, Lancashire
Happy Mount Park in Morecambe is home to one of the biggest splash parks in the region - and it's completely free to enter! The park features an aqua arch, water fences, a fill 'n' spill feature, interactive water jets, sprays and cannons. Children must be supervised at all times. The splash park is open from Easter weekends and runs fully from late May through to September (10.30am–7pm). Beyond the splash park, Happy Mount Park has a children's play area, an adventure play area for older children, shady woodland areas, Japanese Gardens and beautiful floral displays - as well as free brass band concerts every Sunday afternoon from late April through September. A brilliant full day out for the family!

Greenlands Farm Village Splash Pool | Carnforth, Lancashire
Greenlands Farm Village is a fantastic family day out near Carnforth, and in warm weather the outdoor splash pool is a brilliant bonus on top of everything else the farm has to offer! Included in the general admission, the pool is open every day in good weather - check their social media before travelling for the latest updates. While you're there, enjoy the open farm with over 120 animals to feed and pet, a giant bouncy air pillow, ride-on tractors, a straw barn adventure play area, a four-storey play barn, laser tag, crazy golf, and a café and farm shop.

Indoor Water Play near Manchester
Manchester Aquatics Centre
There's a brand new Splash Pad at Manchester Aquatics Centre! There's a shallow water paddling pool with interactive water play area. Perfect for water babies and water confidence building or for sensory play. The Splash Pad will be in operation during Swim for All sessions. Just book into any of these sessions to secure your place.

Alton Towers Waterpark
One of the UK's most exciting waterparks, Alton Towers Waterpark is a brilliant day out for the whole family. Experience the thrills of the Rush and Rampage tube slides, drift along the Lazy River, ride the Wave Machine, or enjoy the splashtastic splash zone for little ones - complete with water buckets and play areas. There's something for every age and confidence level, making it a fantastic wet weather (or sunny day!) adventure. A separate admission ticket is required for the waterpark.
