Spread across four floors of Manchester's iconic Urbis building, the National Football Museum holds a collection of over 140,000 football-related objects, artworks and photographs — from the kit worn in the first international match to the ball used in the 1966 World Cup Final. Whether you're a lifelong fan or new to the game, the museum tells the story of football in a way that's engaging for all ages.

Each gallery has its own distinct character. The Pitch Gallery on the ground floor is where visitors can pose with Premier League and Women's Super League trophies and see George Best's iconic Mini Cooper up close, while the Match Gallery charts the origins of the game from the founding of the FA through to England's World Cup glory. The Play Gallery offers six interactive Football+ challenges, where you can test your speed, reaction time, penalty skills and even your commentary technique.

Free guided tours run daily at 11am and 2pm and take around 40 minutes, giving visitors a great introduction to the museum's highlights. A changing programme of temporary exhibitions, workshops and family activities runs throughout the year, ensuring there is always something new to discover. The museum also has a café and a shop stocked with football gifts and memorabilia. A season ticket option is available, granting unlimited visits for 12 months from the date of first entry.
