Groups at Longsight Family Hub

A wide range of free weekly groups, courses and support sessions for families at Longsight Family Hub — from parenting programmes and English language courses to health clinics and baby bonding sessions.

Longsight Family Hub runs a broad weekly programme of groups and sessions for local families. Current sessions include:

  • Incredible Years Parents Programme — a 14-week positive parenting course for parents and carers of children aged 2–4
  • Baby and Me and Bonding Before Birth — a term-time group supporting parents-to-be in connecting with their baby through talking and singing
  • MAES Talk English and ESOL courses — English language sessions for parents, and a separate course for mothers with babies, running on various days throughout the week
  • SHAPLA Group (women only) — a weekly wellbeing support group
  • Healthy Child Clinic — drop in to speak to the health team and weigh your baby
  • 9 Month and 2 Year Health Checks — child health assessments with the Health Visiting Team
  • Midwife appointments — check-ups, advice and support available on selected days
  • Birth Registration — register your baby's birth at the hub and collect a free baby book start bag
  • Careers Connect — support for young people aged 16–18 (or up to 25 for care leavers and those with an EHCP) not in employment, education or training
