Z-arts is a place where imagination runs free. As an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation strategically funded by Manchester City Council, it plays a leading role in creative engagement with children, young people and families across Greater Manchester and beyond. The venue is home to a theatre, a beautiful children's library, a café, a gift shop and a range of dedicated creative spaces — all designed with families in mind.

The programme at Z-arts is packed throughout the year, from visiting family theatre productions and immersive play experiences to storytelling sessions, arts workshops and creative classes. Younger children will love Adventures in Wonderland, an interactive play experience for ages 1–8, while older kids can test their wits in the family-friendly escape room, The Library of Enchantment, suitable for ages 7 and up. There are also regular free activities and events, making it easy to drop in and explore without breaking the budget.

Z-arts is also passionate about supporting artists working in children's theatre, nurturing long-term relationships with creatives dedicated to making outstanding and diverse work that reflects the communities it serves.
