We Invented the Weekend is one of the UK’s most exciting free festivals, celebrating how we spend our precious free time with over 200 activities taking place across MediaCity and Salford Quays.

Across the two days, you can explore a huge range of experiences including live music, theatre, dance, workshops, creative crafting, team games, wellbeing sessions and plenty of family-friendly fun.

There’s also a strong focus on getting active, with opportunities to try everything from rock climbing and BMX to football, skateboarding, skipping and hula hooping. You can even get involved with organisations like British Cycling, Taekwondo and the National Football Museum.

For something a little different, jump on a boat and sail across the Quays while enjoying the sounds of Northern Soul, or take part in interactive activities happening throughout the waterfront.

With food and drink, talks, performances and hands-on activities around every corner, this is a fantastic way to kick off the summer and enjoy a completely free day out with the family.
