The Garden House is a volunteer-run charity farm nestled beside the River Goyt in Marple, Stockport. Home to a wonderful mix of animals including alpacas, pigs, donkeys, Shetland ponies, goats, rabbits and guinea pigs, it offers a calm and accessible environment for visitors of all ages. The farm also features a sensory garden, children's play area and a beautiful riverside walk that leads into Marple Bridge.
The on-site Riverside Café serves hot drinks, light bites and ice creams, making it a lovely spot to relax while the little ones explore. Annual passes are also available and offer great value for families looking to visit regularly throughout the year. Groups of six or more are asked to book in advance, and educational visits and volunteer placements can also be arranged.
The Garden House is easily reached on foot from Marple train station (approximately 10 minutes), and is also well served by local bus routes. Disabled parking is available on site but must be pre-booked by contacting the team in advance. Well-behaved dogs on leads are very welcome throughout the site.
