Celebrate England’s patron saint with a lively, colourful parade as communities from across Manchester come together for this much-loved annual event.

St George’s Day Parade Manchester

  • Dates: Sunday 26th April

  • Location: Starts at Varley Street, Miles Platting, Manchester (finishing in the city centre)

  • Times: Parade starts at 12:00pm

  • Price: Free

Now in its 21st year, the St George’s Day Parade is set to be bigger and better than ever, with a fantastic celebration of English history, culture and community spirit.

The parade features a brilliant mix of performers and participants, from local scout groups and school children to pipe bands, entertainers and civic figures.

What to expect:

  • A colourful parade through Manchester

  • Live music and performances

  • Local community groups and organisations

  • Historical characters including Henry VIII and his six wives

  • A dragon float and St George on horseback

The parade begins at Varley Street in Miles Platting before making its way into the city centre, creating a vibrant atmosphere along the route.

A great free day out for families and a wonderful way to celebrate St George’s Day in Manchester.

  • Varley Street – left onto Oldham Road

  • Oldham Road – left onto Great Ancoats Street

  • Great Ancoats Street – left/right onto Oldham Street

  • Oldham Street – left onto Piccadilly

  • Piccadilly – left onto Newton Street

  • Newton Street – left onto Dale Street

  • Dale Street – right onto Lever Street

  • Lever Street – left onto Great Ancoats Street

  • Great Ancoats Street – right onto Oldham Road

  • Oldham Road – right onto Butler Street

  • Butler Street – left onto Bradford Road

  • Bradford Road – left onto Varley Street (route concludes)
