Mayfield Park in Manchester

Mayfield Park is Manchester’s first new public park in over 100 years, offering a fresh and modern green space right in the city centre. Located next to Manchester Piccadilly, it provides a unique mix of nature, play and urban energy, making it ideal for both quick visits and longer stays.

Playground and family space

The park features a large, imaginative children’s playground designed for a wide range of ages. With climbing structures, slides and interactive features, it’s a major draw for families visiting the city centre.

Riverside setting

Running through the park, the River Medlock has been carefully restored to create a natural focal point. Riverside paths and seating areas make it a relaxing place to walk, sit and enjoy the sound of the water in an otherwise busy part of Manchester.

Green space in the city

Mayfield Park offers generous lawns and planting areas, providing space for picnics, socialising or simply taking a break from the surrounding streets. The landscaping blends modern design with natural elements, creating a welcoming environment for all visitors.

Events and atmosphere

The park regularly hosts events, pop-ups and community activities, adding to its lively atmosphere. Its central location means it’s easy to drop into as part of a day in Manchester, whether you’re shopping, commuting or exploring.
