BOOBS Pram and Sling Walks

Free weekly outdoor walks for new parents and their babies, led by volunteer walk leaders from BOOBS (Breastfeeding in Salford), combining gentle fitness with friendly peer support and community connection across the Bury borough.

BOOBS Pram and Sling Walks | Postnatal Support Groups in Bury

The BOOBS Pram and Sling Walks are free, volunteer-led outdoor sessions run by Breastfeeding in Salford, designed to help new parents get active, meet others and access breastfeeding support in the fresh air. All routes are pram-friendly and baby-wearing using slings and carriers is actively welcomed. There is also a dedicated Sling Walk for parents looking to build confidence and experience in babywearing while out walking with their baby.

Taking place across Bury, Prestwich, Ramsbottom and Tottington, the walks are led by experienced volunteer walk leaders including a trained breastfeeding peer supporter, creating a nurturing, supportive space where parents can chat, laugh and connect with others going through the same experiences. More locations across the Bury borough and areas of Salford are planned in the coming months.

The walks are open to all fitness levels — whether you would rate your activity level as a one or a five, the team are ready to welcome and support you at every step. Parents who attend regularly have shared that the walks have helped improve their physical fitness and mental wellbeing, increased their confidence breastfeeding in public, and led to lasting friendships with fellow walkers.

For any questions about the walks, get in touch with Walk Lead Betty-Ann at bettyann@visitfromthestork.co.uk.
