Songs & Smiles is an award-winning intergenerational music programme run by The Together Project, a charity dedicated to connecting generations through joy. Sessions take place inside care homes and assisted living schemes, creating a truly unique setting where families with young children come together with older residents for shared moments of music and connection.

Each session is designed by specialists and features colourful scarves, shakers, bubbles and action songs carefully chosen to engage and delight everyone in the room — from the youngest babies to older adults. The informal, relaxed format stimulates the senses and imagination, making it a fun and interactive experience for all ages, and sessions finish with refreshments to round things off.

Sessions are free to attend, with the option to make a voluntary donation to help keep the programme running. Spaces are limited, so booking in advance is recommended — if a session shows as full, families can join the waiting list and will be notified if a place becomes available. To protect the older participants, please do not attend if you or your child are feeling unwell.
